INDIVIDUAL WORK (DESIGN PROPOSAL)

Project Location: Lujiazui, SHANGHAI

The project is to design a 10 million square meters large-scale master plan for Lujiazui, Shanghai. The issues we found at site visit are lack of pedestrian accessibility, inconvenient land use and insufficient public spaces.

The reasonable design solution in terms of ideal city re-planning I found is to break the original linear urban axis along the Century Avenue in Lujiazui into derivative circular blocks. Each circular block has walkable distance - 500m radius, integrating programs-living, working and entertaining programs, accessible public transportation and pedestrian. Meanwhile, each block has different theme-oriented nodes.
